As we wrap up another year, this is a great time to pause and reflect on your wealth journey if you haven’t done so already. Set a money date for yourself to grab your journal and write your thoughts on the questions below. What’s great about these reflection questions is that they can be used throughout the year. For example, instead of waiting until December to think about the entire year, set a designated time aside once a month to do a deep dive into your money.
When we take the time to think about our money from a wholistic approach, it gives us the opportunity to focus more energy on what moves the needle and opens the space for growth on different levels.
- What is one thing that you’re most proud of this year regarding your money?
- What money goals did you reach or exceed?
- What specific systems or strategies did you follow to help you reach those goals (aka: what worked)?
- *TIP: If you found a rhythm or system that worked for you, think about how this can be applied to new financial goals or ones that you have yet to accomplish.
- If you didn’t meet your financial goals this year, what challenges or obstacles prevented you from reaching them?
- What will you do differently in the new (month/quarter/year) to help you get closer to reaching your money goals?
- Taking a look at your spending… did you spend and save your money with intention/did it feel in alignment with what’s important to you?
- Time is an important currency -- what in your life can you:
- Delegate to someone else to give you more time to spend on people, things and experiences that bring you joy?
- Delete to remove unnecessary stress or negative energy?
- Defer until a later time if it’s not a priority right now?
You have the power to write your money story. Whatever didn’t work or whatever money decisions you made in the past that you’re not proud of does not define who you are or where you can be. Money success is not done alone – we’re here to help you every step of the way.
